Boot options¶
The MitySOM-AM62x brings all 16 of the boot mode pins out to the edge connector. Section 5 of the AM62x TRM discusses the initialization process in detail. See section 5.3 "Boot Mode Pins" specifically if you want a boot mode we haven't provided.
| Signal | BM00 | BM01 | BM02 | BM03 | BM04 | BM05 | BM06 | BM07 | BM08 | BM09 | BM10 | BM11 | BM12 | BM13 | BM14 | BM15 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pin | 154 | 148 | 150 | 152 | 156 | 144 | 146 | 142 | 155 | 157 | 153 | 149 | 151 | 147 | 145 | 143 |
As these signals are pin-muxed with other functions, care must be taken with regard to pull-up resistors and any signal integrity requirements imposed by the other functions, if used.
Note that the BM00, BM01, and BM02 pins are permanently set on the SOM using 10k pullup/pulldown resistors:
| BOOTMODE Pin | SOM Configuration (fixed) |
|---|---|
| BM00 | 1 |
| BM01 | 1 |
| BM02 | 0 |
On the Critical Link MitySOM-AM62x baseboard, the remaining BOOTMODE pins are mapped to two banks (SW1 and SW2) of 8 dip switches to allow maximum flexibility in choosing the boot mode.
| SW1 BM3-7 Switch # | Corresponding BOOTMODE PIN |
|---|---|
| 1,2,3 | NOT CONNECTED |
| 4 | BM03 |
| 5 | BM04 |
| 6,7,8 | BM05, BM06, BM07 |
| SW2 BM8-15 Switch # | Corresponding BOOTMODE PIN |
|---|---|
| 1 | BM08 |
| 2 | BM09 |
| 3,4,5,6,7,8 | BM10, BM11, BM12, BM13, BM14, BM15 |
Critical Link Evaluation Board Boot Settings¶
The Critical Link MitySoM-AM62xx Development Board (CLPN 80-001617) provides an array of interfaces capable of supporting booting the AM62x module. Boot mode option settings can be found in the "Primary Boot Mode Selection" table in the TRM.
