Yea, I agree. It looks like the mount /proc is causing issues. CONFIG_PROC_FS is enabled in both the defconfig and .config. Attached are snippets from the diff test and enabled PROC_FS.

Ben, I apologize for the assumptions in my original advice. Any time you change a kernel you need to bring along the asociated modules (typically located in /lib/modules) for that kernel. You could try testing the Alpha MDK release we uploaded under the Files tab (2016.01). This is a Yocto-based MDK. It looks like Qt was built with keyboard support as part of this MDK.
